What is vector art and why do I need it for my order?Updated 17 days ago
Vector art is a file format (AI, EPS, SVG) that can be resized without losing quality. It’s required for most print orders to ensure your logo comes out clean, sharp, and professional on your items.
Unlike PNG or JPG files, vector files keep your design crisp and high-quality, whether it’s printed small on a chest logo or large across your apparel.
What is Vector Art?
Vector art is created using paths and shapes rather than pixels, which allows it to scale to any size without becoming blurry or distorted. This is especially important for custom orders where your logo may be applied to different products and sizes.
In addition to providing optimal print quality, vector files also give our Art Team the flexibility to edit and refine your design if needed. Because elements in a vector file are editable, our designers can adjust things like size, spacing, colors, or line thickness to ensure your logo translates well across different products and decoration methods.
Vector vs Non-Vector (Why It Matters)

Using the correct file format has a direct impact on the final result of your order. Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG) produce clean, sharp prints because they are resolution-independent. In contrast, non-vector files like JPG or PNG rely on pixels, which can become blurry or pixelated when resized.
For this reason, vector files are required for printing to ensure the highest possible quality.
File Requirements by Order Type
✅ For Embroidery Orders
You can provide:
- PNG, JPG, or PDF (high-resolution)
Our Art Team will:
- Digitize your logo for embroidery
- Match thread colors as closely as possible
- Send a proof for your approval before production
NOTE: In some cases, a vector file may also be required for embroidery, especially if adjustments are needed. A vectorized file allows our Art Team to refine elements of your logo such as increasing the width of thin text, simplifying details, or adjusting proportions so it can be embroidered cleanly and accurately
Tip: Share Pantone colors and size preferences upfront to avoid revisions.
🎽 For Print Orders
We require:
- Vector file (AI, EPS, or SVG)
- Editable and separable design elements
This ensures:
- Sharp, clean prints
- Accurate colors and details
It also allows our team to make minor refinements when necessary to optimize how your logo appears on.
Artwork Review & Compatibility
Once your order is submitted, our Art Team will review your artwork to ensure it meets production requirements. Not all logos are immediately production-ready, even if they appear clear at first glance.
Adjustments may be needed depending on factors such as the fabric type, the selected decoration method, and the complexity of your design. For example, very small text or intricate details may not translate well on certain materials. If any issues are identified, our team will guide you through the necessary changes before moving forward with production.
